Wamiqa Gabbi (born 29 September 1993) is an Indian actress who works predominantly in Punjabi and Hindi films and series. She made her screen debut as a child artist in a small role in the film Jab We Met (2007). She later achieved success in the Punjabi films Tu Mera Main Tera (2013), Nikka Zaildar 2 (2017), Nikka Zaildar 3 (2019), and Kaali Jotta (2023).
Wamiqa Gabbi has also acted in the Tamil film Malai Narathu Mayakkam (2016) and the Malayalam film Godha (2017). She has also been recognized for her performances in the Hindi streaming series Grahaan (2021), Mai: A Mother’s Rage (2022), Modern Love Mumbai (2022), and Charlie Chopra and the Mystery of Solang Valley (2023). The latter two series were directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
Gabbi’s career took a significant turn in 2023, when she played an aspiring actress in the critically acclaimed period drama series Jubilee and a spy’s wife in Bharadwaj’s thriller Khufiyaa. For these roles, she won the Filmfare OTT Award.

Wamiqa Gabbi Early Life and Career
Wamiqa Gabbi was born into a creative family. Her father, Govardhan Gabbi, was a writer who wrote in Hindi and Punjabi under the pen name Gabbi. Wamiqa is a trained Kathak dancer and began her career in Punjabi cinema. Her big break came with the film Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22, in which she starred alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh and Amarinder Gill. She then rose to fame with the films Ishq Brandi and Ishq Hajir Hai opposite Diljit Dosanjh.
Wamiqa later began working in films in other languages. She played the lead role of Tanisha in the film Sixteen and acted in the Telugu film Bhale Manchi Roju. She played the female lead in the Tamil film Malai Nerathu Mayakkam (2016) and the Malayalam film Godha opposite Tovino Thomas. In 2017, she signed on for the Tamil film Eravakalam, directed by Ashwin Saravanan, and acted in a Malayalam film alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mamata Mohandas.
In 2023, Wamiqa starred opposite Ishaan Khatter in the short film Fursaat, directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. She also starred in Bharadwaj’s Netflix-released film Khufiyaa and played the role of Niloofar in the Amazon original series Jubilee, which was released in April 2023.
